One of my former employers had, imo, the most ridiculous perks for its stage, when I joined it was series B, around 80 people, the perks are: - 100% paid (employee and family) premium insurance package (I remember I was on PPO250 that costs employer about $550 a month for just me) -401k, 100% matching up to employees 5% contribution (the craziest one imo) - Monthly Caltrain pass ($200 per EE?) at some point the CEO agreed to charter shuttle between mountain and sf which costs the company around $10k/month for only around 20 EEs who live in sf -1 day Eat Club + 4 days catered lunch + munchery dinner (remember when Munchery was a thing?) a lot of ppl order munchery and leave work even before they arrive so everyday there were tons of munchery left behind -Weekly yoga and tai-chi classes at work (during lunch time) - all bougie beverage + snacks at work (unlimited bottled GT kombucha and Kevita) + beers on tap I remember around the time I joined our burn rate fro a company that has 80-100ppl was $2MM a month. The company is still around but basically in zombie mode. After this company I have since worked at a few other startups and none of them spends money this this. I guess it's one thing to have great perks but how the CEO spends $$ also says how she/he runs a business as well. YOE: 10 TC: 180k #officelife #perks #startups

L4 Google -> 45 interviews, 5 offers, AMA
We are getting pizza tomorrow for hitting our numbers for May
😂😂😂😂
What are you laughing at Microsoft. You do not even offer free food to employees and under pay workers. No wonder why Microsoft bleeds talent to real tech companies every day
Company card for unlimited tabs at restaurants, access to charter jet for meetings with VCs, unlimited rental car usage, golf club memberships. Look at the type of stuff MoviePass did a few months before it went bankrupt, truly crazy stuff.
^ this is where?!?!??!!! Got referrals?
Any employee who receives golf club membership has to pay tax on it. So money out of your pocket if you don't golf. The jet has similar issues.
Free nerf guns, everyone fights for ammo or orders out of pocket from Amazon prime.
Cringe
Somehow with shitty perks and pay the idiots in charge still burned $10M series A in 1 year. Cringe indeed. Good learning experience though 10/10 would do it again.
100% paid premiums - MSFT and its companies (GitHub, LI) provide this 401k match up to 5% - Cisco does a 4.5% immediate match
Yeah, we so 5% match as a retail company so really not that far out there
Accenture had 6% match too, not crazy at all
My ex-employer offers free flow 🍺 in office to drink at working hour.
Not a good idea during work hours.. company is liable if something happens
Wmart- Who invited you, HR/legal
I have seen 11% 401k match
Most top of the pack companies in many industries outside of tech are in this 10% 100% match range. Marathon oil comes to mind.
Verizon gives us 9% with megabackdoor Roth. I’ll miss you Verizon 😢
Bowling alley at work
Amzn doesn't have shit for perks
Eh, unlimited DC metro pass is halfway decent.

Quarterly retreats to Caribbean, individual crystal champagne bottles for all post release.
None of these sound all that ridiculous, especially for a decent size startup like a series B. I've seen most of these, except shuttle and meals, at even seed stage, 10 employees.
Often depends on what the startup is doing. If their technical needs require them to hire from the large tech companies, they'll have all the perks and benefits to match. Data or infra focused startups are often in this category.
