So I got contacted by a Motion Recruitment recruiter with regards to a software engineer job at Sony. They quoted me 47 an hour contract for one year with a a chance to hire. I’m a recent grad with a BS in CS. My question is, do motion recruitment contracts often lead to hire and whether 40 hour weeks are guaranteed at that pay? Also, do I lowball myself by showing interest in that comp?
Everything Procore said. I just ended a contract with them today. The hire depends on what the client (Sony) wants. Just be a good employee. But also remember as a contractor you don’t get much benefits, so you don’t want to waste too much time especially after the year mark because you will be losing money. Keep leetcoding and look for something on the side as a backup unless you like Sony and get hired.
Would you say 48 an hour is low for this? I made the mistake of giving a range off the top of my head when recruiter asked and now I’m thinking I shoulda stfu.
What is your location and YOE?
Yes contract jobs will have 40 hrs of work. You may get hired if the manager likes you. Do not low ball. Also keep leetcoding on the side.
Also full-time conversion depends on budget and need.
