Got an offer. Currently L65 but offer is for Senior swe - interviwed for Staff but screwed up one of my Craftsmanship rounds. TC ~ 355K (including my unvested msft RSUs) + 50k signon. What's the experience of people who moved ? Also the offer letter only talks about the extra RSUs - but recruiter tells me existing RSUs will continue to vest. I also have a 401k loan, will I have to pay it off before moving to LinkedIn ? Do you get to keep your @microsoft email id ? What are the chances of a promo to Staff soon ?
Yup..
Can you share your numbers, breakdown base + stock etc. I too have a LinkedIn offer
Senior at linkedin is like 2 years out of college
Senior is a very wide range in Linkedin. 2 years out of college might have just made senior.
Principal to LinkedIn senior is very bad, evaluate again.
Why so much TC then?
My salary is 125K at level 62 with 20K of RSU. My TC is 145K total. Am I underpaid?
I understand the leveling looks bad.. but is it worth the gamble ? Is it possible to get staff within a year ?
Staff within a year is really hard, nearly impossible. Too many seniors in line to be staff
May be they are putting at highest senior level possible, so that next year or some time they will promote you
What does “including my unvested msft RSUs)” mean? Don’t you stop receiving unvested msft RSU?
Nope they keep the original vesting schedule, but they said they account for your invested stock when making an offer. (Im also an MS to LinkedIn transfer)
Don’t mess up the expectations for others please. LinkedIn levels are already inflated. If they can’t give you staff screw them. They are not google. I know people with just 4-5 yoe that are staff.
I know a lot of folks too.. which is the reason I was thinking about this. If the salary for the first year is good.. and I can make staff during that time, I won't have much to loose..
How many yoe do you have? If it’s >=10 and you’ve been working in the software industry I wouldn’t go for senior. It’s an insult from a company that has inflated titles.
Are you physically moving to Bay Area too? Stocks should continue considering both are same companies and they wouldn’t lie about it.
