Looking for advice on finding a place to live starting in July. Will be working at Google in Mountain View. What are the best sites/apps for apartment hunting? About me: single, no pets, interested in getting my own place, preferably with amenities such as gym etc.
Budget?
Flexible with budget but obviously hoping not to get gouged
You’re going to get gouged if you move here. The hope is to minimize the gouging. Good luck
Mountain View is hella expensive. You’ll need to trade commute time for cost. San Jose is affordable in some spots and you can get to google in about 30 minutes. Google also has shuttles in many spots
I heard about the shuttles too. San Jose was one of the areas I was looking into. Any other suggestions? And any recommendations on where to look (i.e. websites/apps)?
Live downtown if you plan to go out at night
The Americana. Mountain Shadows.
New apartment communities in Santa Clara give out 2 month free
Know any names?
Hearth apartment or villas on boulevard
Mountain View is actually pretty cheap, look on Craigslist. You can always gym during work.
You're going to use gym at Google. Just get something cheap in Sunnyvale.
NorthPark at San Jose. Google has shuttles from outside the community.
OP, what kind of life you’re looking for, suburban quiet or city party?
Somewhere in the middle. Not a party person but also don’t want to be too far from the hustle and bustle.
