Hi all, I’ll be relocating from Boston to the Redmond/Bellevue, WA area. As this will be my first time relocating (besides when I moved into my college dorm lol), is there anything I should keep in mind when relocating specifically to this area? I’m living on my own and am looking at 1 bedroom apartments in the area. Thanks! TC: $183k YOE: 1

Choose either a location close to work that’s expensive or expect to commute and save boatloads on rent. Locate near the light rail for easier commute.
Is there a map of the light rail with stops? Also, are there specific places that the Connector stops at in Redmond/Bellevue?
Moved here recently. Redmond downtown area is good. Beautiful overall. Cloudy days in summer as well. Dealing with rain might be easier than snow.
Where in Redmond downtown?
Awesome! Do you feel the need to own a car to commute to work or to get to other places?
Redmond is cheaper than Bellevue.
Is Redmond walkable? Also, what parts of Redmond are cheaper? In particular, would I need to own a car if I want to commute to Microsoft’s Redmond HQ?
If you don’t want a car, you can use Connector or ORCA card that Microsoft gives for free and use public transportation If you purely want walkable, then apartments on 156 or 148 are good, but they aren’t luxury

Living in Bellevue downtown and loving it
If NYC is expensive, Boston can make New Yorkers cry. If Boston is expensive, Bellevue can make Bostonians cry. Nice area though.
PNW apartments are clean and new compared to Boston. No Irish pubs
the parkour community is pretty solid at Redmond/Bellevue but it’s nothing like what you can expect to find around Boston
It's a good neighborhood. The police and city council are competent unlike the Seattle counterpart.
