I got a chance to apply to US H1B visa with EPAM Systems. I am not sure about the company overall i need your feedback. Also i got offered for 140$k gross salary for senior aws engineer i think it is very low but might be a start to land into the states, also they are going to sponsor the green card after one year. I need to chose a location to move but still i am not sure, Locations NEWTOWN, PA PHILADELPHIA, PA CONSHOHOCKEN, PA MCLEAN, VA NEW YORK, NY BOSTON, MA I wanted Seattle or San Francisco but both not available. What do you think, i need your advices? Forgot to mention i have a wife and two children.
McClean or PA locations. Can’t save a ton of your in NYC or Boston
Heads up, h1b is a literal lottery system. It took me 3 years to get it. Even if you're unsure, apply now. The deadline is approaching and the visa will only be ballots from October. So apply now, then make a decision later. If you delay, it might be too late. If you make your decision to move, you might be heartbroken to not get the visa. Just apply and wait is my advice.
https://redbus2us.com/h1b-2024-season-starts-on-march-1/#more-24081 This site has lots of info for h1b. Note that this year's deadline is March 17th. So you only have a little over 1 week to apply!
First of all apply for H1 even if you are unsure of moving. Even though $140 is a lowball offer and tempts you to select lcol city, I would advise choosing city where you will have more opportunities in future. Since NYC will be more difficult, I would go with Boston. Push on sponsoring Green Card right away. It doesn’t cost them a bank so they should accommodate it.
EPAM are legit. Yes the TC is low but work-wise they are awesome. I did relocate to the US with them. I left for double TC
YOE ?
PA locations or pick McLean. It’s also close to Amazon HQ2 so in future if you want to increase tc or get into a faang it’s a good option to have.
Go for 1)McLean VA 2) Conshohocken PA
Did you move where did you end up going?
140k is too low for Boston or NYC. You can’t Save much and need to spend very cautiously
