Campbell. Rent is cheaper than Sunnyvale and Mountain View and it’s just as close to Apple.
Campbell looks to be an hour away
There’s no way, even in traffic (I live in Campbell). Especially if you take an expressway like Lawrence. Probably 30 max. And Campbell has a great downtown area.
Can you work remote? $2m for a fixer upper.
No remote
Avoid sidewalks. Live in your home.
Sunnyvale, the area around the Caltrain station and near Murphy ave has many decent apartments. And plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Thanks, will look into that
I’m also prepping for a move for Apple. Thoughts on downtown San Jose/Japantown? Is commuting from SF miserable enough to not be worth it? What should one expect to pay for a 1bed?
Downtown SJ is ghetto. It has been a ghetto even in the 80s. Japantown is old, but new apartment building are sprouting up. Cheaper cost of living, but older and smaller houses.
Oh interesting. Threads I’ve been reading on reddit have suggested otherwise about both of those areas.

sunnyvale or mountain view if you wanna pay a lot. or fremont if you want to pay less
That commute.... Milpitas would be better as long as you don't live near the dump.
I don’t think the commute is that bad from Fremont to Sunnyvale. I live in Irvington and work in Sunnyvale. Specially with an EV with a carpool sticker helps a lot.
