Seriously!!! Somebody stop these vulture linkedin influencers from benefitting off of layoffs. "My heart goes out to all those who have been laid off. My dms are always open. Just comment your email and like my post full of sympathy and I will get back to you soon" meanwhile their dms are already full of 100s of unread cry for help from 2020. #tech #layoffs #linkedin
I agree to most part at this point ppl who have roles open And can help connect ppl with active roles are the most useful ones I do understand ppl willing to help and provide support and connections but there are too many of those I am seeing now on LinkedIn except someone offering a true job
They're just advertising that they weren't affected.
Yep.
Yes! That’s how i found my friend at meta was NOT affected. The post was major cringe 😂
LinkedIn is so cringe
My heart goes out to the OP
I agree to a certain extent. Recruiters or HMs who use layoffs to build a network that leads to job opportunities are fine in my book, especially since I’ve taken a proactive effort in building my network. However, “brand” influencers or other non-essential influencers (even in recruiting) are absolutely in the wrong. As someone who has done the same thing before on Blind, it’s to provide genuine support. I can help whenever I can, and sometimes that’s all someone needs to get back on their feet. TC: 62K
When coal workers and key stone pipeline workers lost their jobs due to 'green energy' companies and their paid activists/lobbyists successfully pressuring the government to shut them down, I remember the progressive woke mob trolling those blue collar workers with no job prospects to feed their families, to 'get another job'. Now, a bunch of tech workers at the biggest companies in the world lost their jobs due to routine fat-trimming. At worst, a bunch of mid level tech companies can now bargain hunt for these talents. This whole sky crashing down attitude just because of losing a cushy job is overblown and condescending to the vast majority of ppl with regular jobs. Now that the tech workers realize that they r not too special after all, it gives a chance for a much needy reality check and normalcy to get restored, i.e., makes living in cities affordable again.
I often want to comment on my friends' LinkedIn posts "come on man I've seen what you post on Facebook."
Must be from a “leader, servant, passionate about products, customer obsessed, data driven, experienced” product manager
The worst is when they reply to a recruiter being laid off and post jobs to engineer roles 😒.
Wait if you are a recruiter dont you know most dont read resumes? In most of my recruiter interviews im asked stuff listed on my resume.
I dont agree with "most" and even if you are right I can still be annoyed by it. Also asking someone to speak to their skills is part of the interview. It's one thing to write it down but it's another to say it out loud live in front of someone.

Tech companies to avoid as a white guy?
Are you so bitter you cant fathom other people feeling sorry and helping their peers?
Nope. I am just good at knowing who is genuinely trying to help vs who is just using this as an opportunity for their benefit to increase their followers.
^^^@Amazon Found the vulture LinkedIn influencer. Hit dogs will holler!!!
