So I joined the company last year and just after 5 months OptumRx and Red ventures started a joint venture. I had to look for a new job, so I went to Optum tech. Got promoted one level with a decent raise. I got good reviews from the manager but now the team started expanding really fast. The manager has so many reports, he told me to report to a new manager which I told him that I don't like. He told me it's just temporary for 3 months and we'll talk later. Optum tech had one round of layoffs in April 2023 and we suspect there's going to be one more this month as well. But everyone says that our team has enough budget. Also, since I got here I was never doing one thing. Each sprint I have to ask everyone for work and one sprint I'm doing platform work the other sprint I'm working on some ranking algorithms. I'm also little nit afraid as I also bought the home recently and cannot afford to lose a job. What do you think I should do?
TC? Also more info needed.

God i hate optum so much… worst ui/ux from logging in. Make it hard on purpose to access hsa all the while collection account maintenance fees
If you’re cool with your old manager explain the situation honestly to him and ask to transfer back. If he likes you and gets your situation, he’ll understand
100% you will be laid off in favor of India-based workers.
I would not trust anything Red Venture related with a 10 foot pole.
Keep working until they say stop. Running away from rhe problem won't solve it.

Start looking around. Prepare for the worst and you'll feel safer. Also it's lose not loose.
Thanks.
Goot advice. Not only should you start looking, get those coding and interviewing skills honed.
