NASA JPL laid off over 100 contractors because the budget hasn’t passed. They are being ultra conservative and assuming they will get the worst case budget which is 1/3rd of last years. It’s infuriating to watch congress flounder about with the budget 3 months into the FY. I’m really depressed about it all.

NASA budget really should be set for at least 20-30 years. It's painful to have to cut and rehire every 4 years due to stupid political system.
every 4 years, yet it's a biden admin. Tax revenues are coming up short and NASA funding is an easy target. Realistically government should look to reduce the bureaucracy and jobs programs during times of hardship, but we all know that's political suicide.
