I had applied for a Position in the technology team and have completed several rounds of interview. After the final one, I was told by the recruiter that they are evaluating the role level to offer me and all interview feedback was good. It has been 2 weeks since my last interview and have been following up with the recruiter but getting not much of a response except they are still working through it...not sure if this is Normal or am I the backup if they don’t find the right person...all other rounds were real fast and recruiter sounded very positive...anyone had a similar experience with NBCUniversal?
Don’t work for NBC, but WarnerMedia Tech ...i’d say it’s not positive. Typically It’s less than a week for a response.
Are you saying working for WarnerMedia is good?
You should hear soon Sometime hiring manager or team work for days for role fitment and budget approvals for Comp, takes some time Good luck
Thanks...got a call today that they are discussing on the compensation etc....fingers crossed
The same WarnerMedia that’s about to slash and burn it’s staff? Yeah. Great choice
Yup
Which group/position/location you applied for? Some groups take long time to make decision. There are layoffs going on in NBCU, hiring is frozen for now for some teams.
This is for the technology team in New York
Is the recruiter external or internal (Talent Acquisition)? Overall I would say that they have work to do to shorten their hiring cycle time, so this delay is not unusual. Hang in there and good luck
Thanks...hope to get something cleared by end of this week
My entire interview process was about a month and a half long for NBCUniversal before I got the offer (4 weeks after my last interview). So I wouldn’t worry about the slowness right now especially since we are going through some insane layoffs atm. We were told layoffs would be finished by end of August. Still waiting. Recruiters are probably waiting for the go-ahead because of the hiring freeze. A few months ago, I had 3 NBCU recruiters email me on the same day like they had a sudden burst to hire. And then silence. Maybe someone higher up is telling them to put a hold on things again.
Thanks for the context
Ack sorry to hear that but they are probably in a hiring freeze
My buddy works there and hates life.
NBCUniversal is about to suffer a round of layoffs, per Deadline. Perhaps you are dodging a bullet...although I know it sucks to be in limbo hoping a role will work out. :(
They can be very slow to make decisions. Especially now. I can’t speak for the technology group, but the creative group is typically a 2-3 month process.
