I finished my last round of interviews with NVIDIA and the recruiter brought up an extremely lucrative perk that NVIDIA has, the ESPP. She mentioned that there was a 2 year look back for the stock. Does this look-back start on the day you start (ex. I start March 2024 and the look-back period is March 2022) or does it begin now (ex. I'm with the company in 2026 and look back to the 2024 price)
All ESPPs are capped by IRS. Extremely lucrative is an exaggeration.
lmao bro thought he found the cheat code to life
Window starts after you join. Purchase capped by IRS to $25,000/year. Look back 4 times in 2 years. Not life changing money by Bay Area living standards unless stock 20x.
Absolutely life changing at the current look back price. 8x of 25k is 200k.
Is there discount on purchase price on top of the 2 year look back?
Yes, 15%
Too bad your contribution is capped.
Congrats! Old TC vs new TC?!
Here is how it works: You lock in the lowest price between current price and previous look back price (if any) every purchase period. Your purchase price will be the lower of the two, minus 15%. Every time you lock in at a new low, the 2 year look-back timer refreshes. So it means if the price keeps going up with no pause, after 2 years your look back expires and your new lookback price will be the purchase price, and the cycle repeats.
Lol new hire noobs don’t get the low subscription.
The latter. In 2026 your look back will be 2024. Sorry, it would have been amazing to have a look back in 2022, but that’s not how it works.
Starts now
For clarification, the look back would be to 2022.
No, the look back would be to your enrollment date into the ESPP.
