NVIDIA Salary Negotiation
I'm expecting an offer from Nvidia Bangalore. How much should I expect? Currently a G7 at Intel, Yoe- 4.5 Current TC- Base- 29L RSUs- 35k USD over 4 years Grade 7 Expecting- IC3 Base- 40L RSUs- 60k USD Bonus- Does Nvidia give joining bonus? The expectation looks decent, they might try to reduce the base by 3l. But why leave Intel? G7 at 4.5 yoe means you are on fastpath (btech or mtech?)
They'll give Joining bonus. Also expect base to be around 32-33. You can expect RSUs of 80K
Yes, one of my friends who recently got an IC3 offer was offered exactly similar numbers.

How much stocks and Joining Bonus? I calculated 40L as 37% hike on top of my current base. I guess this is a standard hike while switching company.
You can expect 32-33. Nvidia won't give you 37% hike since they maintain parity based on yoe. Even I got a mere 21% hike on my base from Nvidia. So be prepared to be disappointed with fixed salary
Hi Op, Congrats on the offer. Go for nvidia, you will get good growth in long term. Nvidia offer looks great for your yoe. Also consider nvidia stock appreciation in long term, that itself will outcast intel TC. Also, may I know are you from Hardware or Software? and which domain? Rtl design/verification/validation/PD? Thanks.

G7 in 4.5 years with Btech at Intel. How ? btech joins at G3. So G4, G5, G6, G7, did you get promoted every single year?

Yup btech joins at g3 but there is no g4. g3->g5->g6-g7 There were no promos during 2022.
Stocks you can try with # of years *20K formula. But nothing beyond this. Base pay is hard to push and often a lot they simply decline any base matching as it is linked to levels and promo. I don't think they will hit 40 as base though More like early 30s. Joining bonus is not too high. Rsu refreshers are around 80% of base.
