Every NVIDIA employee is happy about the stock price and additional 25% Jensen’s reward in rsu this year. Wonder anyone is puzzled by the low base increase this year as me? Usually company gives good cash rewards during good times( bonus+base increase). NVIDIA doesn’t do bonus, but the base increase was quite good in the past a few years. Wonder what makes the management change this year? Are they concerned about cost and cash flow in the coming years? Any other companies do the same this year?
I am in hardware, and worked in multiple hardware companies in the past. Honestly the rsu at NVIDIA is quite good in the past a few years(of course not comparable with software world). The base increase is also quite ok even in 2022 which the stocks price dropped quite a bit. Just found strange that they reduce the base increase quite a bit this year while the company is doing so well. I usually get more cash rewards in the past when company is doing good.
It's linked to the entire market is what we've been told, and the entire market is not in a good shape. NVIDIA has not had layoffs ever, we're hiring more than ever, hardware is cyclical in nature, and who knows if this entire AI saga is a hype that can die down and hurt our profit margins. I'm better off knowing that company has extra cash rather than anticipating that there could be a layoff in the future because we overhired.
Thanks for sharing. Yeah, that’s what I worried about. ADI delayed their annual pay increase this year for 6 month to reduce cost while their stock is at historic high too. This high stock price in tech now seems not to reflect the real market now. Keep my fingers crossed
It’s slightly different though since nvidia pulled in the increases 3 months so we got them earlier and you are saying adi pushed them out6 months
Companies do not have any obligation to increase the wage of their employees when they are doing good. Do you give your contractors more money when you earn more? If you like to get more when the company is doing well then negotiate for more RSU or find somewhere else paying you more.
Just to clarify: I am very happy about the review and refresh I got this year. The base increase is also quite ok, especially the extra rsu we got this year is more than enough to compensate the base part. The reason to post it here is to share the fact and get other people’s opinion on it. It is good to be alert even at the best time……That applies both to companies and individuals.
Haven’t get the feedback yet. Not sure why manager is holding so long
It's common around here. My manager made me wait till 15th evening to get focal results last year. It's not fun
Because not good?

Should C-suite take paycut to save company? Peloton layoff 400 and ceo pocketed $168M TC.
Base increase has always been low at NVIDIA. The refreshers are not great either by market standards. The only reason our TC looks good is the stock appreciation.
How much increase are we talking about about
Around 3% this year.
