(This is for an intern role) I expedited my interview process at NVIDIA due to competing offers and the recruiter is now asking me to share companies I have offers from. I already received an offer letter from NVIDIA. Is this normal practice for intern positions as well? I have two competing offers - can I use any of these as leverage or is there a chance that this offer would be rescinded. New to this stuff so would appreciate advice. TC: 🥜
It’s standard practice to ask who you’re in the process of interviewing with. As for comp? For an internship I don’t think it matters because they’re all paid the same. For full time job I wouldn’t talk money until they give first verbal offer then you can leverage the other offer
I provide comp information to all parties if their comp is in equivalent range because it’ll most likely end up increasing it for them.
I guess it depends on your situation. My only experience juggling offers started with a lowball so definitely not sharing that lol
For non-intern roles I would not share. It just seems weird to me, like they are evaluating if you are talking to a company that is ‘better’ or competition, then they will decide if they will accelerate your application or not. It makes some sense for the intern process though. In a normal FTE interview process I have been put off as a hiring manager when a candidate tries to play the card of Im also talking to…name drop.
They are not asking to share the offers, are they? This sounds like they just want you to reveal the other company names. I have had that happen to me. No big deal to me. Also, on one occasion I volunteered to show a pic of all my offer letters with $$ redacted. This effectively ended the negotiations in that situation because they could not compete.
Internships are full time roles. So negotiate it like a full time with the caveat that there's not much room for the companies to go higher up. At one point, I successfully negotiated my internship offer $8k/year. So it could be only small amount like that.
That happened to me, i shared details and offered numbers. It only helped me to receive more competitive offer from Nvidia.

Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
If it's to your advantage (better), and they aren't fabricated, then I would share, share your Nvidia offer with the other recruiters.
The other offers do pay more than NVIDIA
Makes sense just wanted to confirm if it’s normal practice in industry and if there’s any risk involved. Will do thanks.
