Currently L6 HDE at AWS. Nvidia is offering IC4 and is remote. Is the drop in TC worth it for remote and potentially better WLB?
Why the downlevel?
Is it truly a downlevel? If I check levels.fyi for hardware engineers, IC4 is lower L6, but for software engineer it's upper L5.
I'd take if they bump the offer a bit so the difference is 50k
Can’t believe this is even a question
If you're trying to compare TC to remote/WLB, everyone's tradeoffs are different. This is a personal question
Nothing is worth downleveling. 2 years from now you will seriously regret it when looking for a new job.
The recruiter is insisting that I map to IC4 since I have less than 12 years work experience. Currently have around 10 years. Seems like the numbers are final from the recruiters standpoint.
Check with them what the average IC4 YoE is. Recruiter may be bsing
Nvidia is the new Google.
What do you mean? Their SWE comp has always been slightly lower than FAANG. Though you're right about downleveling, I got a new grad MS offer as a 2 yoe L4/L5 lol.
Google = Msft, so nvda=Msft. People have started making peanuts
Nvidia wlb is terrible
No sir. Don’t.
L6 to IC4 is a non starter. Why would you downlevel and also take a pay cut. What part of HArdware design are you in ?
Damn hell no
