Found these and thought folks should be made aware.
Stuart! Great guy. I worked with him before
Amazon has about 13K folks in New York. They have around 11K PXT employees, and 26K employees in the Stores department. Those (from that doc) are mostly in Manhattan.
Woo JFK 25 location was badly hit.
Yeah JFK25 is a WeWork location and is 100% Retail and PXT/Stores teams are based over there. JFK19 is Ads, JFK14 is mostly AWS. This explains why JFK25 has been so quiet recently. They might probably even get rid of it in favor of the upcoming Lord and Taylor office.
Folks in ads okay?
Yep looks like it
Am I understanding that these documents are posted by companies ahead of layoffs because they're required to do so?
Yes. State laws vary. NY requires 3 months
Wait a minute... So Coinbase just had a layoff the other week. Are you saying that if we would have checked the NY state website, we would have known ahead of time???
Amazon warehouses can’t afford to lose more people. Turnover rate is too high
Have these affected employees already been notified? And they're serving 2 or 3 months notice?
I have the same question if these are affected employees or future ones. Thanks!
Can someone clarify if this notice is for layoffs which have already taken place or if this is for future layoffs (April 2023)?
Already clarified above.
No Microsoft. Must mean the last round affected less than 250 in NYS.
Aren't these from the last round of layoff a few days ago? Companies give 2 months warning during layoffs to comply with this so as not to learn the news ahead of announcement.
Yes they are
Yes. It's three months for NY state which is why the date is April
