How did it become Pelosi's fault? She physically can't 💩 so much. She works on federal level. Did she sent a bunch of homeless to SF from Washington?
We need a ban on 💩 crossing state lines
It’s her district dude. When you represent a district you should be liable for it. Instead she wants to go on power trips against Trump who’s actually achieving something
Look how shitty it is. Haaaaa
Okay while I absolutely hate Pelosi, she is a member of Congress and her job is to represent her constituents at the federal level. SF and more over CAs homeless issue is related to local politics, not federal. Granted she shares a love for the same policies that have manifested at the state level to allow this, it is not her fault, nor her problem unless you want to argue that public defecation is a federal issue...
The only public defection, which should be handled on federal level is Trump speeches.
What state policies are those?
Shitty for whom? Working class people being displaced / made homeless... the already homeless who got “generous” policies from “liberals” such as the end of direct cash assistance, and sit/lay laws, and the elimination of public restrooms in SF... or tech companies and gentrifying development companies who have been the beneficiaries of local government policies? https://www.google.com/amp/s/sf.curbed.com/platform/amp/2016/12/5/13845276/bathrooms-san-francisco-sf
The map is 💩. Pleas show me the defection event, which cover the whole block as these pins on the map. 🤦🏻♂️
This is also an issue in my home country of India, sadly.
Sounds like SF needs more than one (limited hours of operation) public toilet for every 5,000 SF residents. Tourists complain about the lack of public toilets here on travel sites... homeless don’t have that option really.
Those, who complain about the homeless. What should be done? Ship them out of state? Jail them? Provide housing? What is the solution?
Shipping and jailing are pretty routine in Ca right now. Maybe housing them could be tried.
Where’s Cop Kamala when you need her!
Sparked... Regarding your second reason.... Any sane person would move to another more affordable city before letting COL increases drive them to homelessness.
You say that but the number of anecdotal stories of people living out of the vehicles to maintain their jobs in the city would tend to disagree. Picking up and moving to a new city where you know no one, have no job, and no place to live is daunting especially if your emergency fund is non-existent. Logically, sure playing out your slowly oncoming eviction to its natural conclusion would drive you to move to greener pastures, but realistically humans are far from logical decision makers. Again, I caveat this with my opinion is influenced more by anecdote than fact for this argument since I don’t think there is that great of data on homelessness population origin let alone data you could consider reliable. I also admit that as a non-CA resident I haven’t gone out of my way to look either, so I’ll gladly take any resources you have and will do some searching myself when I get home.
