Hi, I applied for a Software Engineer (Entry level). at Opendoor, completed phone screening with the recruiter and cleared the first technical round (Only LeetCode). The recruiter scheduled a final round interview next week which is a 2 hr interview including Technical phone interview and conversation with one of the leaders (according to the recruiter). Does anyone who recently gave an interview with Opendoor have any idea what type of questions I can expect in the technical round? #swe #engineering #opendoor
Stay away
Says the OpenDoor person. Should the company be renamed CloseDoor?
Looks like open door will soon file for bankruptcy
Company sucks, I recommend not joining
This is my only shot, I don't have any offers in hand. Can you give me any insights on what to expect from the interview?
Interview itself was easy. Though my experience was different in that it was a 4 hour panel of 2 coding (1 frontend, 1 backend), 1 system design and 1 behavioral/hiring manager interview. The interviews themselves don't deviate much from the standard format for each respectively. I can share what I did to prepare for each part if you want. That said, I'm being serious about not joining the company. The core business is looking really grim and I'd not be surprised if it went bankrupt or go through another layoff soon.
not recommend OD right now
Is TaxProper team safe right now at Opendoor?
Given they already gave a coding test. Expect behavior and maybe a little bit of system design on the second one. Leader one is likely culture fit and may drill you about what you know about the company. Remember to prepare several questions for each interviewer that you think will pique their interest. Do they tell you the interviewers ahead of time? It is okay to ask who will interview you as well as for an overview on what each one will be about. Companies that treat interviews like a blind test should be avoided at all cost. It's likely they are unorganized and do not have a repeatable interview process. This will show during normal work too.
Thanks for the detailed insight. Yes, the interviewer names are disclosed 2 days before the interview.
