I'm going to move to Sacramento. But I have to still come to the office in San Francisco three days a week, once a month (sometimes twice a month). I was wondering if anyone has any clever ideas on how to make the commute/cheap places to stay once or twice a week? So that my time will be manageable. Thanks!!

Buy a van. Sleep in it.
This. There are a few of us at LinkedIn that do the van dwelling thing. South bay though where there is a lot more options for stealth, shower, anonynimity etc. Anyway check https://www.reddit.com/r/vandwellers as bay area has a massive van dwelling community...
I think it fits perfectly op because he's only gonna have to do that a few days a month.
