Need help deciding which city to buy a house in.

I am trying to decide between a SFH in Dublin ($1.1M for a 4BR) vs a 3BR condo in SF (ingleside). In SF the price is around $1.43M. I can't pay the entire mortgage by myself so I plan to rent out 2 rooms to help me pay monthly mortgage. However I am not sure which is a better place to invest in? I work in SF and I am worried about the commute from Dublin. The house in Dublin is really nice. Any advise or suggestion would be very helpful

You think SF is a better ROI?

Yes. Even renting or reselling would be easy. Also avoid daily torture of commute.

Buy the place in SF, get a software engineer or PM girlfriend that works at FANG, kick out your roommates and profit

Sf.. don't kill yourself with commute

SFH investment > condo investment. But location location location always the most important factor. My advice is buy a place you can afford rather than depending on roomies to carry the mortgage. For more reliable commute, consider Walnut Creek. The BART station there gets more train runs than Dublin.

Neither, if you’re going to end up with roommates, just do that in sf and save for a couple years

SF. Commute isn’t worth it, especially if you are going to need roommates. It’ll be easier to get those in SF too for top dollar.

SF hands down... commute from Dublin would be 1-2 hours each way
