CEO got changed recently. Seeing a lot of folks leaving. I joined this company a few months back. Should I start looking outside? Yesterday saw my boss preparing for interviews himself - he had a doc open with his answers for behavioral interview questions. What to say when I am asked about looking outside so soon? This is my third job in 2 years. Moved from past two jobs in less than a year each.
This may well be the opportunity for you to make a difference in the company and further your career. More than 3 jobs in 2 years may not be perceived well. You don’t talk about how you feel about the place though...only that others are jumping ship.
Hmm. Don’t have much opinion about the company as still exploring. Hardly anyone shows up at office. Feeling totally down after seeing my boss thinking about leaving as I joined the company due to him. Wanted to work for a good boss and felt a great chemistry with him.
Things don’t often work out the way we expect. I’ve found developing tolerance for distress helps with stability. Stability is important to me now. I urge you to find the silver lining and spend more time before switching. All the best!
Is it just because other people are leaving? Staying can mean great room for growth. Someone has to fill your bosses role.
True. But layoffs are not cool. You never know who may have to go.
CEO didn’t change recently.. its been 2 years and you said u joined few months back? May you should consider what factors made you join in the first place and if any of those have changed significantly for you to now consider quitting.. just bcoz someone else is preparing for interviews can’t be the sole reason for you to think about quitting.. how long has your manager been in this company/same role? maybe he has his reasons unless you know something which is bigger than just 1 person preparing for interviews..
Don’t know anything bigger and don’t care about such things. Joined the company because of my manager and will feel totally awful if he leaves.
15 years with the company.

I.e., Oracle?
Stay and learn something of value. Then move.
At director level and 20 yoe, learn to make your own decisions. Do your own SWOT analysis, weigh your options and potential outcomes, pick a path and stick to it. Asking someone else just helps you to push responsibility for your career off to a collective opinion, thus avoiding that responsibility.
Use this to advance your career if your manager leaves...

Manager thing is hilarious ! F5 has atleast 2-3 years of steam left. If you’ve learning opportunities and reasonable TC, then stay but if you feel stagnant then leave. Btw, what’s your TC and yoe ?
YOE - close to 20. Director role.
Your TC and location ?
