Hello, i am looking to switch companies and currently working as Business Analyst/ Product Owner at at startup. When i look at job postings in Google, Apple and Microsoft, I do not see any Business Analyst or Product Owner roles there. What is the equivalent of my job role in these companies? #Faang #amazon #google #meta #netflix #apple #product management #businessnalyst#pm #product #productmanager
Do you have any CS background? There are exceptions of course. But usually one need a CS degree or related tech experience to go after PM roles at FAANG.
Yes, I did Bachelors in CS and Masters in MIS. I dont have any coding experience but Know some SQl

Product manager is the more common term, note that some companies have both POs and PMs, generally PO manages day to day scrum team activities and PM is more market analysis, schmoozing, demos, and vision. PM can be a sweet gig if you find a product that makes money without a lot of actual inputs.
Thanks, but these companies do not even consider you for PM role if you dont have any prior experience. So I am not even trying those roles yet. Should i try PM at FAANG or is it a long shot
I’m a PM at salesforce and my last job was a BA in marketing consulting. Not quite FAANG but possible in big tech
