I make connections with people I work or consult with. I release products/features as part of my brand to develop reputation. I check all referrals to roles I am hiring for and if the person doesn’t have credible work experience with them I both decline them and block them from future application to our company. I consider this type of referral as fraud (our referral program asks that referrals only be made by those which have had working experience with the referrer).
I heard atlassian is going to shit by someone that’s been there for over 4 years. Huge downward spiral in company culture. It used to be amazing they said.
