Hi there, I’ve been at Twitter Seattle for about 2 years, currently an SDE2. I made 150k/year, 11k rsus (# of stocks) over 4 years and 10k sign on. I have a total of 4 years experience. Do you think that’s a decent pay? If it’s on the lower side, how would you suggest I negotiate? Thank you!
Did you sell or hold your RSUs
Been holding them
11k stocks seems low, i know 2 of my friends with 200k worth of stocks and new grad engineers
11K * 30 = 330K
Seems like a decent pay to me tbh. Mine adds up to a similar tc number
Thanks! My manager says Twitter is recalibration the pay this year to match up to Facebook and google. Don’t know how that’ll work out come comp adjustment time.
About time. That'd be very much appreciated, let's see :)
Looks legit for 4 years
About 230K total comp at your level in secondary job market is outstanding. You should feel really good about how you are doing. By comparison, adjusting for inflation my TC at your stage in your career in the primary job market, Silicon Valley, was 188K. I'm at 600K today with over 20 years experience. You've done really well. Now, on your RSUs. Please take this advice: each month sell one percent of total vested stock and buy into the s&p 500 index. You'll thank me in ten years.
Just curious - what is your base? What portion of the 600k is stock?
VFINX counts as “buying into s&p 500” right?
Lol I didn’t know Twitter is in Seattle. And I’ve been here for 8 years
Yeah been here for 2+ years. On 4th and pike welcome to visit ;)
Also was not aware of this. Thanks for the heads up
