Negotiate vacation time
Can you negotiate vacation time with FANG? I’m relocating from Europe soon and don’t expect Europeans standards , but would like reasonable time off every year to travel back to see family .

Can you elaborate? I was unsuccessful at this (got offered more money but not more PTO). Could you explain your approach?
I’ve been told I’m at the top of the comp range and that they cannot go higher. At that point I suggested an additional week of vacation time and got it.
I attempted to negotiate vacation, but got extra $$ instead.
Not really, but you can work it out with your manager to form a backdoor agreement. For example I've taken time off and got paid for it even with no PTO balance and my manager looks the other way.
The larger the company, the less likely they will negotiate benefits. As some of the above posters indicated, I'm guessing with FANG you'll be able to get more money, but not more time off (welcome to America!)
