Have a couple of offers, Nest and LinkedIn being my top picks, LinkedIn is offering a Senior and a 270 - 290 TC, Nest is offering an L4 with 150k base, 15% target cash bonus (15-25% range) and around 300k stocks, no sign on Now, it's fairly easy to calculate LinkedIn TC, their cash bonus is 10% annually and no RSU refresh, so the range i provided is 1.1*base + signon/4 + rsu/4 No idea how to estimate Nest RSU refreshers, recruiter says Nest == Google in terms of benefits and RSU refreshes are exactly the same Different blind posts mention L4 refreshers to be ~60k for meets (30%) and above that for exceeds, but some people say it depends on the org and the manager (wtf?) Googlers/Nesters, can you please help to eval this Nest offer and help to estimate the RSU refresh target? With the new products launch and integration into Google they sound like a decent gig, I also liked the team, but don't want to accept if the refreshers are in 10% base range since it's a massive cut compared to LinkedIn Also, which one is better for the future career / growth? Would you just pick LinkedIn or is there anything appealing about Nest? @Nest @Google @LinkedIn
I had same offers. I went ahead with LinkedIn. Nest seems like good option as well but LinkedIn was better in terms of pay and team.
Linkedin.
I had same offer from Nest for 2 year experience at Msft..I think they are low balling you.
you had over 250 TC with 2 years of exp? that's great stuff was your linkedin also in the same range? did your comp grow at LI since joining? how hard is it to get a refresh?
I got close to 240k. Does ur 270k with LinkedIn includes signing bonus as well? What base did you receive from LinkedIn?
so if nest refreshers are like 60k/year over 4 years, the comp between the two is about the same, but linkedin is front loaded (sign on) and nest is back loaded (rsu build up), given the avg time in company for SV is 18-24months, LinkedIn is better money so unless nest pulls their shit together LinkedIn it is, am I right?
Did you get Staff at LinkedIn? I hear their senior is equivalent to our sde2
Is this seattle Kirkland or Palo Alto Nest behind Stanford?
But do you even believe in nests future?
Nest has same benefits as Google, but you are not a Google employee.
does that mean completely full formal interview if i decide to go to G (what I had to do with LinkedIn) or easier/shorter loop and multiple "attempts" (no limit of one per year)?
All Alphabet companies require full interviews to join Google
Both LinkedIn and google/nest give good refreshers. But LinkedIn might be a better choice compared to nest
wait what do you mean? everyone says LinkedIn gives no refreshers regularly, you can get some for great perf or as a part of a promo also, ideas about Nest refreshers range? is there a target for meets? recruiter says no target which sounds really weird
LinkedIn gives you RSU refresh grants based on performance. Depends on how well you do and your manager. At least that's how it was a few years ago
