hi all, does netflix have a hiring freeze? i have interest in working there in non tech capacity (ie non SWE).have 2 YOE. would love to chat with anyone who can speak more to the culture/various team needs

Difficult for teams to interview remotely. Plus your YOE is likely too low even for non technical role.
That’s crazy. I find it hard to believe Netflix only takes “finished product” professionals. That sounds like a horrible culture PR nightmare. Also skews the company demographic to middle aged folks... not that that is bad in and off itself. But you get the idea

Yep, we are only recruiting for critical roles. Everything else is on a pause. Don’t let 2yoe dissuade you - I interviewed when I had 2.5 yoe and I have been here longer than 95% of the employees.
If you are in the 95 percentile tenure, then it means that you have been at Netflix for a Long time. It was a very different hiring process back then...

Yeah, 5 years at least I have seen ( may be a bit if variance across teams). When I joined my team I was youngest with 10 years work-ex.

Really? That is news to me. Any reason for that or just a general stance
I don’t think that’s a hard rule they follow, i think it’s more likely that they consider all engineers they hire to be senior, and the majority of engineers with 2 yoe wouldn’t be considered senior (not saying they don’t exist, just saying it’s not likely).
