Hello Blind Community! I have a Netflix onsite coming up next week for Software Engineer (L4) in Consumer Engineering. There are 3 interviews in the loop - 2 Behavioral and 1 System Design. Could you please help me with some pointers on how to prep for these interviews. I have been unemployed for quite some time now, and I am really hoping to get through this one. Please help me here. :) YoE - 5 #interviews #engineering #software #swe #netflix
Did the recruiter give you a prep call on what to expect?
not much. pretty much same as what other recruiters say.
Was there any interviews before onsite? Did they what will be covered in behavioral?
before onsite - 2 interviews - phone screens - Very basic and simple questions on leetcode, but they do talk about practical implementations, and I think thats one of the significant factors in making a decision. Its not like other phone screens that you solve an algo problem and you're done. behavioral - just past experience.
So, totally 2 phone screens and 3 onsite rounds? There is no second round of onsite?
Focus on concurrency and multithreading
Even for system design? If yes, then do you mind giving some examples or some questions that might fall in this category?
Concurrency in db -> distributed
May I ask what did they ask you on your TPS?

Do you mind if I dm you for more info?
What does consumer engineering do?
Mainly deals with Netflix Homepage that we see when we login to our profiles.
Any pointers here from the community? Please!!
For system design just be aware of all the possible moving parts and which components could solve which problems. Don’t usually need to memorize whole systems but how to use your toolbox. Ask how increased load will affect your design, and use the tools to solve the problems. Eg, Messaging queues to handle load and do processing async, caching to return early and reduce processing requirements etc
Lots of youtube and grokking the system design are useful resources
How’d it go?
Reject
@e_kch sorry to hear that :( So no coding rounds for the on-site (only coding in screens?) What did they ask for the on-site?
OP how did your interview go? What kind of questions were asked?
Took the opened spot. You snooze you lose
Did you interview? How quickly did they get back to you?
Got the offer 3 days after on-site
