Got very positive feedback from the interview and they are having an offer for me but like I am down leveled and lowballed. also need relocation. Should I join? Level: L4 Comp: 380k all cash Yoe: 7y #netflix
380k / L4 is considered lowball for 7yoe these days? We have plenty of L5s with 12-15+ yoe
I used to see 4yoe with 400k at netflix on levels.fyi ~2yrs ago. Was that always atypical?
Most of the people around me have 12+ yoe 4yoe here is not unheard of, but not very common.
How is launch darkly/what’s the interview process like if you don’t mind me asking? I met some folks at a conference a few years back.
Are you planning to accept it?
I got around 330k at 4.5 yoe same level
Which org is this ?
Is Netflix allowing remote, or just on-site?
No company wide policy. Depends on the team.
Hard pass. Has to be over 500k
Whats your current TC? Times are very different than 2 years ago. Netflix is mostly hiring new E4 roles and backfilling E5. What team is it?
How did you get a Netflix interview?
Netflix people like to say that our senior is more senior than others (a bit childish tbh), the reality is that the company realized that they can save some money by hiring plenty of people that are willing to accept an L4
As an EM, I can say its more nuanced than that. Before leveling and cost consciousness, we targeted external candidates who were E5/6 at their previous company as E5 at Netflix. Now we target E5 at external companies and hire for E4/5. See the slight difference? We can fulfill most of the roles that we have with external E5’s and average cost is lower for us because we’re not hiring as many external staffs as E5 here.
Great addition to my comment! Thanks!

How common is it actually to earn more than 300K TC?
Are you able to get a better offer elsewhere? Do you like the team and role?
