10 YOE, backend engineer. If I do well on the onsite how much comp can I expect? I’m making good money at Amzn thanks to stock appreciation so not sure if its even worth pursuing Netflix onsite?
I have heard package is around 500k for senior engineer at Netflix
What kind of engineer are we talking? ai, ml, or anything else thats really hot right now? Curious what the p50 or p90 might be
Doesn’t Netflix only hire senior engineers?
Yes
It really depends. Backed distributed systems with java exp will be on the higher range of what you hear out the there. The good news is, they don't low ball in the offers.
For 10yrs it’s around 500k
Hm, am I underpaid? 13 yoe, much less then 400... Need to go for a few interviews then
I've heard it varies on what you are working on. You might just have a "lower demand" role. Definitely worth interviewing if you feel underpaid though, my manager immediately increased my salary as soon as I demonstrated I was worth more
You cannot cannot count stock appreciation as part of your TC, it’s like saying I got 500k cash from Netflix in 2017, I invested 200k and doubled it in one year. So my TC for 2017 is 700k
It does play in because appreciation led to today’s stock price and TC is computed based on today’s stock price.
Was there something unclear in my message? You involuntarily invested part of your TC into Amazon stock, the growth of stock is not your TC, it’s your investment income.
Above 400 is uncommon
$300-400k standard
Hmm so much for blowing fb goog etc. out of the water
Too low. Even people with 5 YOE get like 430+ from Netflix
