There has been virtually no innovation for many years. Let’s start with what you have done well. The first innovation that started the company of course. Then streaming. Then what? The skip button? The recommendations still don’t know my tastes after years of watching. You are lacking business strategy. You could have taken over entertainment completely. You could have created a platform for UGC, like Etsy for filmmakers. You could have gone into podcasts before Spotify took it over. Now you are looking at ads as your next big innovation? What happened? Why are you not innovating? #netflix #Spotify #YouTube #Amazon #google
I disagree.
What innovations have you had since streaming?
Ok ok since original content
This
Better than prime search 🙂
Prime video search?
At least prime gives you 2 day shipping with it!
Neflix is an entertainment company now. Software is just to make sure the streaming works. Directors, actors, producers, writers, etc.. are more important than the techies. Sorry
Yup
Very true!
There are so many areas they can grow, steaming music, podcasts, live events...etc or selling movie related goods or even creating nfts. I guess they just don't have good PMs that help to prioritize new business initiatives 🤷♂️
Netflix originated “binge watching” in 2015 by releasing entire seasons of a series at a time instead of just a single episode week by week, which no film studio at the time would have dared to do. I don’t know if you’d categorize that as “innovation” but that term is used so regularly in society today I think it’s worth mentioning. I believe as of 2019 Netflix has produced and released more movies and series than any other film studio, so again I’m sure you wouldn’t call that an “innovation” but you’re lying if you feel that doesn’t add value to the business - that is the majority of the value of the business I would argue, and the execs at the company realized that long before I did.
Oh great more movies that suck. 80% of Netflix is garbage. Their goal to release more crap has hurt them.
20% is good? So is that 20% of 100 shows or 20% of 1,000 shows?
Netflix is much better than Amazon Prime Video in terms of user experience.
I disagree. Can you tell us why though? It's almost impossible to find anything good to watch in either of them and Netflix has been horrendous at it for far longer than Amazon.
Amazon Prime Video is just tacked onto Amazon Prime as extra content. It's not a money maker and it doesn't have to be. Meanwhile streaming movies/shows is all that Netflix has. If they fail at having watchable movies/shows, they will not make money regardless of how good their engineering systems are (and it is certainly good).
They need to bring back The Office. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen since Peacock has it. Losing The Office was the beginning of the eventual demise of Netflix…
Netflix is better than any streaming service platform .Period
Not better than X videos or phub. People can’t handle buffering during personal time. You know that right?
Wow, definitely not! First off, what Mailchimp said: porn trumps all. Secondly: It depends, Disney+ has been coming out with much better shows recently. Acorn is better than all of them.
They don’t innovate they just buy license and collect premium by showing it on their app. Entertainment is secondary and doesn’t solve user problems in real life. It is just a way to waste your time.
Tell that to Meta and YouTube
YouTube is awesome you get to learn lot of stuff if you follow nice channel. Meta has connected people and solved lot of problems.
