When stock tanked they didnt do shit, shoved the ownership up our a**es and now when stock is up, they found a way to shove ownership up our a**es again. No raises then or now. I dont know why I work here. When do people think, companies will start filing perm again? TC:415k (2024), 370k (2025), dont ask me 2026 projection. YOE: Amazon 10, Overall 12 Level: SDE 3/ L6

I am high on bananas
Shared by an ex-Amazon GM on LI - It's just one former Amazonian's perspective, but from the time Bezos stepped aside and Andy Jassy took over, the company just keeps wedging itself under previous bad decisions with worse ones. This is maybe the worst decision yet. The company is here employing the rationale that senior managers make more of their salary through shares, and shares did so well last year that they're already exceeding planned compensation levels. But it is a load of BS for at least 2 reasons. 1. It doesn't address that the prior year, when share price plummeted, those same managers lost masses of income. I lost tens of thousands. As did all of my colleagues. 2. The logic is totally circular. If the compensation philosophy emphasizes ownership and Amazon makes a $30B profit, then by all means the managers who create that value *SHOULD* be meaningfully exceeding their compensation targets. They should be sharing fully in the success they created. Amazon just had the most profitable quarter in its history. Its best peak season ever. The managers who made that happen had cause to expect joy in their compensation reviews. If this isn't the point where they get something lavish enough in their pay packet to signal genuine appreciation for their efforts, when is that time? Never, I suspect. Only those who make it to the c-suite will get anything close to what they deserve. The message here is that they are taken for granted ... and that doesn't end well in businesses reliant on discretionary effort for their success. Amazon is not paying its leaders as much as it can afford. It is paying as little as it believes it can get away with. This is not the behavior of "Earth's Best Employer." It is the behavior of "Earth's Biggest Mediocre Employer." And as word of this filters out, there will be a spike in really superb talent available to other employers.
True manager 🫡
Yes. Only caring about other managers. Because they are the ones who "own" and "create value" . My ass!
What are you smoking? 415k TC. You can probably make half of that in many other companies.
I dont buy Nike anymore. Get a grip

I keep getting emails from them on the daily, idk man as someone who doesn’t have FAANG on my resume I might just do it to get my foot in the door. I hear it’s the easiest FAANG to get into
Maybe. But make sure to knock on every other door before trying here
100☝️
It’s fked up but can you keep the stock for a while and sell when it goes a lot more than the vesting price ?
I can but pissed at that they didnt compensate when stock was down bigly
Once the stock vests, it is not compensation anymore. It is your investment decision. Amazon shouldn't get credit for that.
I applied to multiple positions, finally a recruiter reached out and asked if I was ok taking a significant pay cut. It feels like Amazon proactively disqualifies itself based on compensation [they could easily pay]
Nvr heard of that. Meta out weigh Amazon on resume.
Seems like these days they don't want us
No matter what people will die to get in Amazon. Amazon knows how many are greedy simping to work like a highly paid slave
Spoken like a true softie
100% truth. For every 1 thinking of leaving 100 are looking to get in and will accept ANY treatment.
If you dont like it, why dont you go somewhere else
I am trying
