It’s ok, the new covid strains are still defeated by the vaccine. It’s because they all have the same “spike” on them
The spike protein is actually starting to mutate. We don’t yet have good data how it affects vaccine efficacy.
There are over a 1,000 mutations already and the vaccine works for all of them. You’re right that we can’t predict the future but I don’t think there’s any worrying about this at the moment
