NEW: Joe Benarroch, who joined Twitter with CEO Linda Yaccarino and seems to be functioning as a head of comms, sent his first company-wide email urging employees not to leak. He asked tweeps to report colleagues who are suspected of sharing confidential info. Benarroch also told employees to report people outside the company who reach out to obtain confidential info. Finally, Benarroch suggests people monitor / review who attends meetings and has access to confidential documents. The success of Twitter 2.0 depends on it (I’m paraphrasing).
Always a good sign when your email about leaks…gets leaked!
🤣
This is very standard. Do you share mcafee confidential info outside the company? Do you directly engage with the press?
C'mon, tell us how McAfee faked his death.
Snitches get stitches smh
And the first thing they do is leak this email lol
Elon is so close to realizing treating your staff like humans will cause them not to leak shit to the press constantly.
Not true. Entitled or trolling employees will leak. Google at one point was treating folks like humans and stuff was being leaked anyway.
Google amount of leaks are impressively low for a near 200k employee company. Twitter has like 500 engineers now and leaks everything.
New Twitter core values just dropped!
Sounds like Twitter needs assistance standing up an Insider Threat program - this communication very reactionary. ACLs should be baked into Slack channels and reviewed by Access Mgmt through an annual recertification/attestation.

Why does leetcode get so much hate?
Isn’t expecting employees to not share confidential info the norm
Yes, and having to send a memo after it’s already part of the employment contract is just embarrassing
It is the norm but the timing of the reminder is odd. Sounds like there’s something breweing
