Just joined Adobe and wanted to know Blind's opinion on my pay Base 120k, 10k sigon and 45k worth RSUs
If you have already joined and have no room for negotiation, why do you bother discussing about it? I see two possible outcomes. 1. You'll feel sad that you're underpaid compared to other Blinders and that'll affect your work. 2. Like many others, you're here just to boast and get a feel good factor.
Or maybe it may motivate him/her to Leetcode harder !!
That's such a bad advice. Leetcode your way to get a better job isnt how one should focus on their career trajectory. Learn. Grow. Make an impact. Leetcode your way to another job when you're bored at your job or being UNDERPAID crazily or if you've saturated your learning curve at your current job.
You are underpaid (assuming 45K over 4 years as thats what they mention in the offer letter) I got the same offer in 2015 plus 10K relocation bonus straight out of college(I had a masters degree). I left slightly after an year for a much bigger bump. Adobe intentionally does not pay at par with FAANG and it reflects in their quality of shitty products.
Adobe definitely pays a little less, but IMO it's a reflection of their strong work/life balance commitment. Two week long shutdowns per year, 1 month sabbatical every 5 years, tons of personal time off, no crazy hours. I was willing to sacrifice a little TC for all that time with my family. Adobe products are best in the creative field, not sure what flew up your ass.
i feel like "underpaid" is a new buzzword for people who don't know how markets work
Adobe underpays its employees for the hours worked.
Adobe overpays for the actual hours worked. Adobe underpays for standard work hours.
If you are fresh grad then it’s a good offer. Gain exp for 1-2 years and you will get much bigger jump( inside or outside)
Even though my TC is less than I’d make at other companies, another poster talked about the benefits of our two yearly shutdowns. In addition, you have a sabbatical at your 5-year mark (4 weeks) and then in 5-year increments. I’ve worked for many Fortune 500 companies and I have to say that Adobe has had the most professional and genuinely nice colleagues of all the places I’ve worked. I’m not looking to just make friends, but when you work at a place where there aren’t too many big egos, it makes the long hours and sacrifices away from family OK.
45k per year or over 4 years?
Should be over 4 years.
If it's per year then it's pretty good.
