Do you like Georgia? If not, go literally anywhere else and get a higher paying job
Not bad at all for Georgia. Reads like 160-170k in the west, but 99% fewer opportunities to exceed 200k later on.
Good for Georgia, bad anywhere else. I’ll tell you, I started in Midwest and wish I had started on the coast instead....
Very good and quick read: https://haseebq.com/my-ten-rules-for-negotiating-a-job-offer/ Excellent and long read: Never split the difference.
Thanks! i bought the book a month ago starting it now
Good read. I listened to it on scribd
Fight for it now , even if u get promoted they might not even give you the whole 10-12% raise. Tell them you did some research and the average salary is more than that and you’d like to be able to focus on your role and not be worried about finding higher paying jobs ..maybe don’t say it verbatim
How tho, any tips? over email, or call?
If you’re comfortable over phone do it over phone if not email works. The worst is they will say no. Won’t automatically rescind an offer
Don’t go to Georgia is my advice.
referral?
Everyone I’ve referred is not excited about low Tc
I think it’s a good offer as a new grad if you like Georgia. I used to work at Verizon years ago a with a lower starting base but quickly moved up my salary over the years . So it was good to work there for a while
You will get stuck with low pay and get complacent with the job (easy few hours of work or no work most of the time).
Only way to negotiate is competing offers
Wrong. Doubled my stock and signing bonus before getting any competing offer (e.g., my Amazon offer). I had great reasons + was in Amazon's and Google's loop, so they accepted my counter offer. You just need to have good reasons and/or leverage for why you deserve more.
how tho Microsoft?
