I’ve seen those impacted post, those *not impacted* post (the worst kind, imo), but today I’m seeing copypasta* posts— like they came from some troll farm overseas. Very weird. TC: $285k Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copypasta

I think DD asked people to post a template email.
Can confirm. God forbid a company try to prepare copy to help those laid off try and get jobs.
God forbid a company try to minimize impact by not hiring aggressively consistently up until layoffs happen. But getting employees to give a weird free HR type statement, very cool. It's not like management cannot see where things are headed, most companies would do a hiring freeze or at least a big scale back.
LI is all about building profile like they would do for ig. Cringe but it is what is is I guess.
Let us know when you write your own layoff post
Looks like they are using some template? Wording cannot be that same coincidentally
100% agree OP – my feed is clogged with these empty copy and pasted messages. I was laid off from DD and these posts come across as nothing but a self-serving pat on the back
Sorry to hear that, my friend. You’ll get back on the saddle soon 👍
Usually the survivors are all told to post the same thing. Its supposed to be some sort of controlled PR, to make the laid off ones feel supported. However it just takes away from the posts of those trying to get some traction to network, IMO.
Really terrible if companies encourage such posts. To a reader it appears as if the poster is a d*** of highest order.
It’s weird and people label it as some weird “empathy” nonsense that isn’t real or supporting. “I don’t want to stand out so I’ll say it too.”
Do companies ask people to post the same message to LinkedIn?
Yes. Happens all the time
We even have a weekly recurring event for this to copy paste this in our feeds
So?
If you have nothing genuine to say or any help to offer— it’s okay to just…not say anything at all…
I guess you’ve never been laid off before lucky you
