Negotiating a potential offer for Engineering Manager in Nike. Can someone share what is the Total comp expectation. First talk with HR - TC 207k no RSUs.
Location ?
Beaverton, OR
That’s a comfortable salary for Beaverton
I do agree there.200k is pretty good for beaverton / hillsboro
Yes agree on that, but somehow 0 equity is getting undigested by me
Have you asked about benefits? Friends I know who have worked there (corporate) complained about paying like $200/mo for their individual health ins premiums
Yea they sent a 100 pages doc.. still going thru it
200k is great for the area. However I wouldn’t take it if you don’t get equity. Hard to move up once you’re at Nike. Also. For TC. Don’t bank on a 100% payout for biz performance
How much equity should I ask for? In qty.
10-15k. There are plenty of roles at Nike that aren’t director that get stock. Just ask for an E band role
Any sign on bonus?
YoE? What lifestyle do you want? Does Nike offer the work you like? It's may be hard to find similar job role that pay similar in OR. Once you moved there, maybe had to find the next job unless you move out
I didn’t get equity but did get a good salary, nice signing bonus & option to buy stock at a discount. I had to negotiate salary hard though, they are notorious for LOW opening offers & using the culture tax as an excuse for why they can’t pay more.
Managers don’t get RSUs in Nike. 15% on the base. And on an average you make that 15%, some years less and some years more.
Push for RSUs. It’s a new change for your band so you can get a sign on and RSU bonus for sign on
No equity? How are you going to cash in when PTON buys Nike?
No, they are saying from next band I.e director is when they provide equity
Imo, don't take that. What's the point of working at a public tech company with no equity. Who reason I left the startup scene.
