I have a job offer from Nike, and am wondering where the best place to look for houses would be. I have two young kids so looking for some place family friendly #nike
Beaverton has good schools. Not sure what your price ranges are but check out Bethany, forest heights, cedar hills. Quiet, safe, easy commute, good schools.
Agree
Flexible on price since I’m coming from Seattle. Thanks for the info; any of those have better school districts than the others? Redfin data doesn’t seem to indicate the Beaverton schools are that great, so trying to understand people’s actual experience.
HQ in Beaverton or somewhere else? Lots of great neighborhoods to choose from.
Yes, Beaverton
Which team in Nike ?
Beaverton will be closest but prices will be higher than other areas for that reason. Still, if you're moving here from a higher CoL area houses will feel really inexpensive - I don't own a house here but it looks like a solid SFH in a good school district will probably be in the ~$500k range which is way cheaper than other tech cities.
If price is not an issue, Forest Heights is your best bet for community, schools, commute, etc. But it’s one of the most expensive areas in Portland.
Thanks!
Beaverton is nice and quiet and has plenty of access to the Max train in case you’d like to go to Portland without your vehicle. And, you’d be closer to work for sure.
U can also check lake Oswego.. great schools a bit of a commute
Lake Oswego. Schools are good and feels like a vacation every time you get home. Commute is not bad - especially compared to Bay Area or other major cities.
Full time ?
Yes
That's interesting, they have hiring freeze all over.
