Hello awesome people out there. I have an interview with Nike PDD (product data) team this week for long term contract position direct with hiring manager and might be 2 other team member will be there. It is ~30 minutes phone interview. What should I expect? Any tips would be appreciated. #nike #dataanalyst #businessanalyst #us #retail #e-commerce Edit: 04/05: didn’t got selected. Reason I got is “ the team decided to go with another candidate who is recommended by one of the team members.” Does it means, they trying to say, Other candidate is better fit? Or out of 3 interviewer they choose to go with the candidate who is referred by one of the team member? #e-commerce #retail #nike #nepotism
Hi OP, curious what they pay on contract roles?
It’s through teksystems. I don’t have disclosures on that. But it would good enough.
Tek has a lot of benefits (generally speaking vs Full-time) but please make sure to hash out everything on your contract beforehand. They like adding 'suggested' rules afterwards that bothers me a bit haha. Also they generally low-ball quite a bit, if your experience is low then what they offer you can be increased by ~15%. If you have extensive and relevant/impressive experience (and you communicate that in the interviews) then you can shoot for 20-25%. I'm estimating based on my past experience with them for a different role/company.
Ok bruh
Are you high
Pretty simple interview
Yeah, that’s the first round. Next will be technical. Any tips would be helpful. Still waiting on the decision though!!
Nike is known for permanently contract. Even competent developers ended up not getting contract renewed in the end. However, it will be easier to get another job after that. Try joining in with the expectations that you will get good pays until you don't and be ready to work for other places.
Good to know. I am on lookout for new opportunities past one month. Preferably contract c2c as I am on H1B. Open to FTE roles and did applied multiple opportunities but haven’t heard back anything. Did one interview with Amazon but not selected and no feedback given.
I haven't known anyone working at Nike as H1B (I'm sure there are people with H1B). They are known for continuously firing and hiring, so watch out since you're on H1B.
The interviews vary a lot by group but I would not be intimidated, especially by that group. It’s largely a good place to work, although right now there is a bunch of turmoil as we’re in the throws of a giant reorg. Feels like the culture is starting to change for the worse, hope it’s temporary.
Hey so did you get the job or if not what kind of technical interview questions did they ask?
No. They move forward with recommended candidate from one of the team member. Haven’t reached to technical level.
You'll be fine, 30 minutes on the phone is just like the recruiter screening
Thank you. No intro asked. Direct questions related to role. 3 interviewer and 1 question each. I asked one counter question related. And done. Zoom was scheduled only for 15 minutes. They were punctual.
