So I’m about to leave Google to become an engineering manager at a company which I will not name. Working at Google is a double edged sword: you get exposure to an awesome engineering culture and future of infrastructure, but you lose touch with just about all open source and publicly available tech. To try and fix this, I’m compiling a reading list. What tech stack does your team use? I’m gonna be working in machine learning, serving, cluster management, and storage. I don’t mind hearing about other things though, I really just want to learn.
You mean to ask what stack uber uses?
You can make magic at UBER. It’s a cultural norm
What use is your compilation if you are anonymous and not shared with us?
Read up on Google’s boomerang policy.
Does it matter? At the end of the day for job hopping just do leetcode and sys design.
Spark, python, docker, sagemaker, ec2, Dynamo, autoscaling, lambda.
It’s all AWS from here, have fun!
