I recently interviewed for a position at discover financial. For the final round interview it was around 3 hrs with 4 different people. After the interview i followed up with recruiter with couple of emails with decent gap between one and other. But there is no word from recruiter that I am selected or not. What does it mean. Any thoughts??
How long has it been? Usually if it's been more than a week, you are either rejected or not the top candidate. The longer the time the less likely that you would get an offer.
Its been 11 days
It could honestly be lots of things. It's not great that the recruiter hasn't responded (but Discover has a pretty weak recruiting team), but how long ago was it? It's very possible that your panel hasn't been able to re-convene if people were out (especially with spring break PTO). Also possible you weren't first choice and they're waiting to see if top choice accepts or not. Some managers are just super slow to make decisions.

Yeah 11 days is nothing to worry about in Discover land. Very very slow to make decisions.
Oh ok. Thank you
Most of the time it means that candidate is not a strong hire (not an outright no, but also not a great fit to the team). They are still interviewing other candidates. If you are lucky (no other options) they will contact you back.

Sometimes these things take a few weeks, but no reason to wait on them. Keep the momentum and keep applying elsewhere.
