The only reason I work at Google is because it's the least unethical (or maybe Amazon is?). They all seem to monopolize your time and get you addicted to their product(s). Imo (and others might disagree), it's just as unethical to work at FB as it is to work at Raytheon or another military contractor. Where can we work to do something that's positive for the world without supporting unethical business or businesses who make money off monopolizing your time? TC 315k 4 YOE
Yea, self driving car companies seem like one of the good alternatives. Is Cruise hiring Android TLs?
Oh stfu without adtech money there would be no google maps or self driving tech to begin with.
Personally, I find Microsoft to be the least unethical. I turned down a lot of places for this (and other) reasons. Google is a close second in my opinion. Microsoft culture is also something I really like in treating people like people (most of tech is decent at this).
I actually took the Microsoft job for the money initially, but I've also come to the same conclusion within a few months of being here.
I agree, so funny how Microsoft used to be this villain of the 90s. You guys truly are the white knight of Big tech
lol Amazon is pretty unethical
Netflix seems pretty straightforward and ethical.
About as ethical as YouTube.
YouTube has a problem policing (or failing to police) user created content, Netflix doesn't. And the product is straightforward, rather than the consumer being the product.
Google is horrible what are you talking about? They do not believe in privacy or in rights. They bought nest to spy on American citizens. They work with the government and hide their true selves
Yeah, and the others are just as bad.
Depends on your values I guess.
Lol on Amazon. Its a shit show here
What I find really entertaining is Apple acting like its ethical when it acknowledged it intentionally sabotaged it’s own products to get its customers to upgrade hardware more often
Yeah, and also the partnership with Intel just to fuck with Nvidia on the hardware side
foxcon always breaking labor laws, yet this is how we get our iphones built at dirt cheap prices. I mean cheap cost, not cheap prices. www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2019-09-09/apple-foxconn-broke-a-chinese-labor-law-for-iphone-production
I’ll work for any company that gives me the highest TC. I’d be willing to kill if i knew there’d be no consequences.
lol bitter cruise.
I'm assuming Facebook is either kidding or have some desperate need for TC! I mean if not, why do you care about TC so much if you can have a very comfortable life with Facebook TC
WTF. Albertsons just feeds people. How is that unethical?
Albertons is not FAANG, they are above all that.
