Currently use MacBook Pro 16inch at work but also used Windows before that so no strong preference. Got following choices for noogler laptop. Is there any merit provided to encourage employees to pick Pixelbook? Recommendation appreciated! #noogler #laptop #google
Mac because it has a pretty face on top and that thicc Unix backend down below
Modern pixelbook is surprisingly fast and stable.
Does google provide any incentives to pick pixelbook? I read somewhere that they provide secondary laptop for pixelbook users only but wasn't sure if this is true.
Depends on what you’re working on. Anything Android-related, stay as far away from Pixelbook as you can. GLaptops are kind of supported, but the only laptop platform that gets decent support are Macs.
That's interesting, I was assuming that they would provide better support for Pixelbook given it's made by Google.....
It’s due to Android Studio, IIRC Android Studio won’t run on it.
i like the smaller macbooks
Do you get 13 inch with M1 chip?
Definitely the MacBook. Besides the bigger screen being really important especially now during wfh, the chrome books have some weird limitations that make development much harder (no terminal, can’t use multiple chrome profiles at once)
+1. Chromebook was fine for working in the office since it was just an email machine more or less. It’s painful now.
no terminal??!?!?!?!?!! really?
