Got support checkin after 6 weeks of joining Google. 😕 What does this mean? #engineering #layoffs
You sure it’s a support check in and not just an ordinary check in?
Yes I'm sure. It's a support checkin. He said it'll be about my role expectations after my noogler period is over
Am I missing something? Because that sounds very normal and expected of a new job
Are you a new grad?
Yes.
This seems to be widespread among new grad hires. I'm quite certain at it had nothing to do with your performance, but it would be a good idea to focus on your deliverables and maybe try to beat the expectations that have been set for you in grad
I said 6 weeks and yeah I'm still onboarding with the team and am not contributing
Check out this post! "Don't join Google for the next 1 year (Tech Industry)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/hXSGU6P2
U joined in right time for your team brother.. ur manager need to produce some numbers
I also dont think it has anything to do with your performance, its just a technical glitch.
2 months noogler. Same experience. Not a new grad. PM with almost 9 years experience overall (5 years as PM) This suck!
Did you join in September? Was it for q3 (ending September 30) or what time period?
I joined on 29th Aug. i don’t know what is the duration for this SCI Honestly, I am clueless
Got a sci 4 weeks after joining. Soon after my Gti ended
Nothing much i hope. Getting a support check-in does not necessarily mean mi or ne rating. It just means you have a spineless manager and director who handed you this since they had some quota to fill. We have not done that in our org
When does performance review take place every year at G?
Which org are you in?
