5 YoE, SoCal Current: 120k @ Boeing, L2 systems eng Offer: 140k @ NG, L3 systems eng HR specialist call me to put together a plan for offer, I said I would be happy with 140k, but as I talked, I realized NG has worse benefits (22days pto vs 15, 12% 401k vs 6%). There's a sign on bonus, but it'll be to pay off tuition assistance at Boeing. Specialist said 140k is definitely reachable, but 150k would be top of pay band and did not feel confident. Is this a good offer?
How the hell are you making 120K as L2?
I hired on for RTX as a P2 2yoe at 115k base in SoCal. It was a combination of the hot hiring market, VHCOL here, and my department/hiring manager being really really desperate. If it's any consolation, this job blows hard and is a career dead-end.
I just took a L2 in la for 110 base + 15

My daughter worked for NG and LM and their TC is lower than tech companies. $140K at NG for an L3 seems appropriate. One of the benefits she had in aerospace was a 4 day work week. Also, going into an economic downturn, jobs associated with DoD contracts will be more stable.
