I’m a new grad (Master’s degree) and have been working at Amazon (post Summer internship) for 6 weeks. I just got an offer from Nvidia for the Firmware Engineer role. Base: 145K RSUs: 104K over 4 years Sign-on bonus: 15K Location: Santa Clara, CA Level: IC2 Current TC at Amazon (standard New Grad): Base: 116K RSUs: 80K over 4 years (horrible vesting schedule) Sign-on bonus: 37K first year + 23K second year Location: Non- Bay Area Level: L4/SDE I What do you think I should do? My current work at Amazon is good, but I have no interest in the domain and will switch to low-level systems development after a year if I stay back. If it helps, I’m an international employee and my H1B did not get picked up this year. Amazon definitely makes it easy if I don’t get picked over the next two years. Should I take the offer and move to Nvidia, or stay back at Amazon and look for similar roles? EDIT: 1. I need help with negotiation as well. What numbers should I target? How much is laughably too much to ask? 2. Added a poll 3. My WLB at Amazon is good. No complaints there. My teammates are great, too. #engineering #software #firmware #amazon #nvidia

Done!
Move to Nvidia. You can probably ask for bit more RSU. Are they offering 104k fixed dollar value Or fixed #units ?
Fixed # of units. Will be calculated at the time of joining

Do you really feel special in your Tesla?
Move to Nvidia. The role looks nice. The offer is better. Wlb should be fine. Nvidia also helps with geographic relocation.
Do you mean now, or if my H1B does not get picked over the next two years? Do you know if Nvidia helps with moving out of the US temporarily, and bringing someone back on H/L visas?
I meant you can move now. Nvidia does help its employees with visas and bringing them back. They also have a good remote work policy.
