Hi, please help me evaluate the following offer - IP/SOC DV Base - $182k RSU - $280k/4 Relocation - $8500 Level - IC3 Location - Santa Clara Yoe - MS+6 The HR told about this being the highest end IC3 and that promotion to IC4 is very likely within 12-18 months. How long do promotions usually take at Nvidia? Is this a good offer? I was expecting an IC4. Will that be possible? This is their initial offer without any negotiation. I also have an offer from a startup that's remote for around 175K(trying to negotiate to 190k). If that pans out, does it still make sense to relocate and join Nvidia esp. with lower upside to the stock growth potential? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated esp. from people who've received and accepted offers from Nvidia in the recent few years. Thanks! #interview #semiconductor #nvidia #compensation #salary #hardware #TC
Yeah don’t believe HR
What do you think about the offer? Is there scope? What ic4 numbers can I counter with in your experience
Lowball
250k TC isn’t lowball for 6yrs and ic3. What’s your current TC at AMD ? Is this a significant bump ? Try pushing for IC4. only way to get 300k+ TC.
Lowball relative what people post here
Yes, it’s good for Ic3, but I was expecting ic4 as others have received that with similar yoe. If I get 185 or 190 as remote, 250 in Santa Clara doesn’t make sense
Remote meaning where? Tell them where you want to be based out of, you might get it
I’m in Phoenix, AZ. I asked that the first thing but the HM wants me to relo to SC at least for about a year and then maybe that can consider remote. But obviously, the tc would be different. Are you remote?
DV can remote? I think on-site a year is company policy to allow remote.
Are you at nvidia? Idk about any such company policy. Maybe someone who works there can comment
This is a good offer. With MS+6 that is totally expected. It is more exception than rule that might get an IC4. Early IC4 is 200k base + 300K RSU. You are within spitting distance. Don’t be greedy, they might rescind the offer. Join the 🚀
If they rescind, that’s up to them. I’ll try again later. A couple startups are paying better base than nvidia
Startup base is more to compensate for their worthless stock options.
182k is pretty good tbh.
I'm a DV in Santa Clara. I also got IC3 when I was hoping for IC4. I had $190k base and $260k in RSUs, plus a $30k signing bonus.
Is this the position for the Custom SOC IP Verification Engineer?
Yes, did you receive the offer as well?
Promotion to IC4 is not likely in 12-18months. That’s hr bluff. Set that aside and evaluate.
It’s like HR read from the same script. Of course promotion is likely. If you didn’t get promoted within x months, guess what, you didn’t work hard enough!
Guess I’ll work hard now itself for a ic4 then lol
