My concern with this offer is the role is software integration engineer and I’d rather be doing the actual dev work. Should I take it and try to pivot while there or keep looking? Currently making 160k cad + paper at startup, don’t see ipo/acquire anytime soon but love the work, team, and culture, which will all be unknowns at N
Nah. Don't waste your time. You'll get harder to find new job afterwards.
Nope integration role sucks..
Can you explain? From what I can tell I already don’t love it but want to hear your take
I also transitioned and worked as an integration engg for about a yr before I switched back to dev. The role itself does not involve any control it is essentially testing the whole product and reporting any abnormalities found and wait for the fix to be given the respective team to retest. Sometimes the issues gets bounced back and forth between teams so much you will even lose track of what you were set out to integrate in the first place. Since the team is not responsible for any one component there is no real learning, as each new scenario you test could lead to issue is some component that you have ever heard of before, so theorically you can work on the same product for years and learn jack shit, the team I was part of seemed like all have given up their careers and were just taking paychecks. I literally spend 1 hr per day doing what was required of the role, aka setup the device, flash the necessary fixes and retest the scenarios and if something fails reopen and upload logs. I felt so unproductive I decided to switch back to dev within month of that role. Then grinded leetcode and switched back to dev at Apple. It was the definitely a low point in my career that I would not go back for. You can ask the HM to describe day to day activities of the team, they will give you some vague bullshit about the team being responsible for the end product, they are responsible for integrating the entire stack and making sure everything works seemlessly. Its whole load of bull, on an established product there will literally be zero issues you can find that other component testing did not already find.
Could always do an internal transfer. It’s way easier than interviewing at most places.
Interenal transfer is harder at Nvidia since one needs to inform their manager before interviewing with other teams.
I'm stuck in a similar role despite being promised dev work. Stock is the only thing keeping me here. I would keep looking if I were in your shoes.
That’s what I’m worried about. Is nv truly remote or team dependent?
Team dependent
Goto nvidia get the stocks

Really good offer for 3 yoe. I would take it.
Thinking about longer term career progression after this tho, doesn’t look great
I wouldn’t, stock is already high, no point now
3 yoe
As good as it gets from nvidia.
